Based on some client feedback, I'm moving many if not most of the detailed footnote entries in the Pactix Contract Clause Compendium into the Contract Notes.

The feedback I got was that many of the footnotes are obvious to anyone who has drafted and negotiated a lot of contracts, which is probably true. Thus, having so many footnotes is an annoyance if you're just trying to review one or more clauses in a hurry. I see their point and have come around to agreeing with them.

The best way to address the problem seems to be:

• to have an introductory footnote for each major section containing a link to the corresponding Contract Note section; and
• to limit the other footnotes pretty much to information that a contract drafter could actually use.

For example, the "Affiliates" section in the Compendium formerly had a bunch of footnotes. It now has just one, at the beginning, pointing to the Affiliates section in the Contract Notes.
